Bengaluru: During the inauguration of the Bengaluru National Film Festival, many actors and actresses did not attend the event despite being invited. Upset by this, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar made a controversial remark saying:

“I too have vast experience in the film industry. I know where to tighten the nuts and bolts. We will do what needs to be done.

”This statement sparked considerable debate — both in support and opposition. A few in the film industry expressed their disapproval of DKS's comment.
Recently, during a private TV program, Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep spoke openly and sincerely about the statement. Addressing DKS directly, Sudeep sent a firm message:
“Our nuts and bolts are already tight. Only mechanics know where to tighten and where to loosen them. Such comments are uncalled for. D.K. Shivakumar should think before speaking. Just like politics has its own pressures and struggles, so does cinema. We understand our hardships, and they understand theirs. If people speak without thinking, it hurts the respect we have for them. But if D.K. Shivakumar speaks with more thought, the respect we hold for him will only grow.”
DKS’s Response:
When asked about Sudeep’s remarks, D.K. Shivakumar responded sharply:
“I don't need to reply to anyone. The right time will come, and they’ll get their answers.”
From this exchange, it’s clear that the back-and-forth between D.K. Shivakumar and Kiccha Sudeep has not ended. The tone has been intense on both sides, and the issue continues to draw attention in both political and film circles.
