Toll Rates on Expressways to Increase from July 1: Daily Commuters’ Wallets to Be Hit!

From July 1, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to increase toll rates across expressways nationwide. This move is part of the routine annual toll revision implemented every July.

Bengaluru: From July 1, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to increase toll rates across expressways nationwide. This move is part of the routine annual toll revision implemented every July.

In this regard, NHAI has issued an official notification stating that a 5% average hike will be applied to base toll rates on expressways. This revision will have a direct impact on those who use toll roads daily, especially people commuting into cities for work.

Revised Rates:

The updated toll charges on expressways are as follows:

  • Cars, Jeeps, and Vans will now be charged ₹65 for a one-way trip, ₹95 for same-day return, and ₹1,885 for a monthly pass.

  • Two-wheelers will be charged ₹25 per trip.

  • Buses and Trucks have seen a steeper hike, with charges at ₹175 per trip and ₹5,275 for a monthly pass.

  • Multi-Axle Vehicles (MAVs) will be charged ₹350 per trip and ₹10,550 for a monthly pass.

Attibele Toll Plaza (37 km from Bengaluru):

At the Attibele toll plaza, toll charges are being levied only on large vehicles and cars, while bikes and two-wheelers remain exempt as usual.

For cars, the toll per trip is ₹40 — which adds up to ₹1,130 annually.

For MAVs, the toll per crossing is ₹265, amounting to ₹7,915 annually.

These revised toll rates are issued by Bangalore Elevated Tollway Private Limited (BETPL), the organization managing the operations and maintenance of this section of National Highway 44 under the National Highways Authority of India.
