Panchagavya-Based Medicines to Be Produced in Uttar Pradesh – A Key Decision by Yogi Government

The Uttar Pradesh government, in collaboration with the AYUSH department, has decided to manufacture Panchagavya-based medicinal products. Preparations are underway, according to Dr. Anurag Srivastava, OSD to the UP Gau Seva Commission.

In a significant step toward promoting traditional and organic medicine, the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has announced plans to manufacture Panchagavya-based medicinal products in partnership with the AYUSH department.

Panchagavya is a traditional organic blend made from five cow-derived products — milk, curd, ghee, urine, and dung. The state plans to produce a range of daily-use medicinal and personal care products such as balms, toothpaste, and other Ayurvedic items derived from this formula.

Dr. Anurag Srivastava, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Uttar Pradesh Gau Seva Commission, confirmed that efforts are underway to initiate this initiative across the state. He stated that this project will not only promote holistic and traditional medicine but also generate employment opportunities.

The Yogi government aims to use Panchagavya formulations to treat diseases like heart ailments, diabetes, skin disorders, anemia, and asthma. Cow urine, a key component, will play a major role in several of the therapeutic preparations.

This initiative reflects the government's focus on integrating ancient practices with modern healthcare while also encouraging self-reliant production and rural job creation.
