“India Gives More Benefits to Minorities Than Majority”: Kiren Rijiju Sparks Online Clash with Owaisi

Asaduddin Owaisi and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju over comments on minority rights in India.

Hyderabad, July 7: A heated exchange erupted on social media between AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju over comments on minority rights in India.

During a recent online debate, Minister Rijiju asserted that India is the only country in the world where minorities receive greater benefits and protections than the majority community. He said India’s policy of providing “exclusive schemes and welfare programmes” makes its minorities among the "luckiest" globally Levi's Men's Slim Fit Mid Rise 511 Mid-Rise Jeans

Reacting fiercely on X (formerly Twitter), Owaisi responded:

“You are a Minister of the Indian Republic, not a monarch … Minority rights are fundamental rights, not charity.”

He added, “India’s minorities are not even second-class citizens anymore. We are hostages.”

Owaisi further accused the BJP leader of reducing minority rights to mere “treats,” emphasizing that constitutional protections cannot be painted as charity.

The exchange has garnered nationwide attention: supporters of Rijiju celebrate India’s welfare focus, while Owaisi’s followers express concerns about underlying political intentions.
