‘Udaipur Files’ Controversy: Madhya Pradesh High Court Upholds Delhi High Court’s Order to Stay Film’s Release

Madhya Pradesh High Court Ruling: On July 18, 2025, Justice Pranay Verma of the Madhya Pradesh High Court considered a similar plea filed by social workers Vishal and Abid Hussain Barkati, who sought an immediate ban on the film and FIRs against its cast and crew. Noting that the issues raised were identical to those addressed by the Delhi High Court, the court disposed of the petition by applying the Delhi High Court’s order mutatis mutandis (with necessary modifications) to the petitioners’ case.
