This unit is set to commence operations by 2026, producing metro coaches and railway wheels for export. The project is expected to create approximately 3,000 job opportunities.Kolkata-based Titagarh Rail Systems is expanding its manufacturing capacity. It is producing India’s only aluminium metro coaches for the Pune Metro and sleeper coaches for the Vande Bharat Express. Additionally, an order for 11,000 wagons and a new wheel manufacturing unit are strengthening India’s railway export capabilities.At the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai, the first hydrogen-powered coach in India has been successfully tested, demonstrating the country’s commitment to clean and sustainable railway transport.
