Monsoon Mayhem in Karnataka: Schools and Colleges Closed in Seven Districts..!

The Malnad region, particularly areas like Agumbe, Shringeri, and Somwarpet, is experiencing severe downpours, leading to flooded crops and widespread anxiety among farmers.

Karnataka is reeling under the impact of torrential rains affecting seven districts, including Karavali, Shivamogga, Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, and Uttara Kannada, with the IMD issuing an orange alert for heavy rainfall.

The Malnad region, particularly areas like Agumbe, Shringeri, and Somwarpet, is experiencing severe downpours, leading to flooded crops and widespread anxiety among farmers.

As a safety measure, schools, colleges, and anganwadis have been closed in these districts. Coastal areas face heightened risks of landslides and flash floods, with low-lying regions particularly vulnerable.

The IMD has advised residents to avoid travel and stay indoors to minimize risks. Meanwhile, moderate rainfall has been reported in districts like Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mandya, Tumakuru, and others, with Bengaluru witnessing light showers alongside sunny intervals.

In Gadag, Haveri, and Bidar, the rains offer mixed outcomes—providing relief but also damaging crops, leaving farmers in distress. Authorities emphasize road safety and adherence to weather advisories to ensure public safety.
