An NGO (non-governmental organization) had filed a petition with the Supreme Court challenging the revision of the voter list in Bihar.Ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections, the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) filed a petition with the Supreme Court questioning the decision of the Election Commission of India to undertake a large-scale revision of the voter list in Bihar.
The Commission had issued an order on June 24 stating that voters in Bihar who wish to remain on the voter list must provide citizenship-related documents. A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed under Article 32 of the Constitution challenging this order.
