Geologists have identified significant gold deposits in the Mahangwa Cavalry area of Sihora Tehsil, Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh. This discovery follows years of meticulous exploration, sample collection, and geological studies in the region.

The area is already renowned for its iron and manganese deposits. Experts estimate that the newly discovered gold deposits could spread across approximately 100 hectares and may weigh in the range of lakh tonnes.

If these findings are fully confirmed, Jabalpur could emerge as one of India’s key mineral zones in the future. This discovery is expected to bring significant changes to the local economy.

Historical evidence supports this find. Years ago, traces of gold were detected in the neighboring Katni district, though they were not substantiated at the time. The current confirmation in Jabalpur strengthens those earlier speculations.
