Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bengaluru on Sunday to inaugurate the much-awaited Metro Yellow Line and lay the foundation for the third phase of the Bengaluru Metro. To facilitate his visit, Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) have announced temporary restrictions on vehicle movement and parking on several key roads across the city.PM Modi will arrive at HAL Airport at 10:30 AM and travel via helicopter and road to KSR Bengaluru Railway Station, where he will flag off three Vande Bharat trains.
He will then proceed to the Ragigudda Metro Station, traveling by metro from 11:45 AM to 12:50 PM to Electronics City. At the IIIT Bengaluru campus, he will officially inaugurate the Yellow Line and lay the foundation stone for Metro Phase 3 before departing for Delhi at 2:45 PM.According to BTP, vehicle movement will be restricted from 8:30 AM to early afternoon on parts of Marenahalli Main Road and East End Main Road. Additionally, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, restrictions will apply on the elevated expressway from Silk Board to Electronics City, Hosur Road, and select internal roads in Electronics City Phase 1.Alternative routes have been suggested for commuters. Those traveling to Marenahalli, Jayadeva Hospital, Banashankari, Sarakki, or Bommasandra can use the Outer Ring Road, Jigani Road, or Sarjapur Road.
For destinations like Varthur, Whitefield, or Hosakote, commuters can opt for Chandapur or Dommasandra routes.Parking is prohibited on Marenahalli Main Road, 4th Main Road, and 18th Main Road. The public is urged to plan their travel in advance and, if possible, use public transport to avoid inconvenience, as advised by the Bengaluru Traffic Police.
