Bengaluru: At the Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Vande Bharat Express train connecting Bengaluru to Belagavi. On the same occasion, he also virtually flagged off two other Vande Bharat Express trains operating from Amritsar to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and from Nagpur (Ajni) to Pune.
The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Railways V. Somanna, Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, and several senior officials.
The Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat train is expected to significantly enhance Karnataka’s railway connectivity. Equipped with modern amenities, the train will offer fast and comfortable travel, providing substantial benefits to passengers. Similarly, the Vande Bharat trains launched in other parts of the country are part of the central government’s vision to modernize India’s railway network.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Modi said, “Vande Bharat trains are bringing a revolutionary change to India’s railway system. They not only connect different parts of the country but also contribute to economic development.”

Railway officials stated that the launch of this train will improve connectivity between Bengaluru and Belagavi, boosting trade, education, and tourism. The event marks a significant milestone in the railway sector, achieved through the collaboration of the state and central governments.
