Bengaluru: Senior BJP leader B. Sriramulu has extended an invitation to K.N. Rajanna, who was recently dropped from the Congress government's cabinet, to join the BJP along with his son, MLA Rajendra. Meanwhile, a group of Congress ministers and MLAs met Rajanna at his residence on Wednesday to hold discussions.

Led by Minister Satish Jarakiholi, the Congress MLAs assured Rajanna of their support, stating, "We stand with you." The meeting included MLAs such as Raghumurthy, Basavantappa, Anil Chikkamadu, and others. Speaking to the media, Jarakiholi clarified, "This was just a meeting. We are satisfied with Rajanna’s performance. There is a misunderstanding at the Congress high command in Delhi, and we will work to resolve it.

"On the other hand, BJP leader Sriramulu appealed to Rajanna, saying, "The entire ST/Valmiki community and leaders are with you. You and your son are welcome to join the BJP, and we will offer you a respectable position in the party." According to Congress sources, Rajanna’s removal from the cabinet was due to his controversial remarks regarding Rahul Gandhi’s "vote theft" allegations during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
