On August 15, 2025, a devastating LPG cylinder explosion occurred in Chinnayanapalya, Wilson Garden, Bengaluru, due to a gas leak. The tragic incident claimed the life of an 8-year-old boy named Mubarak and left 12 people injured, with seven in critical condition.
The intensity of the blast caused the collapse of a house’s walls and roof, damaging over 10 nearby homes. One child sustained severe burn injuries, while another suffered fractured limbs due to a falling wall. The injured are receiving treatment in the ICU at Indira Gandhi Hospital.According to locals, a resident named Kasturi had stated on August 14, 2025, that the cylinder was empty and had brought food from a hotel.
However, the explosion the next morning raised suspicions. Adugodi police, along with Joint Police Commissioner Ramesh Banoth and local MLA Uday Garudachar, visited the site to assess the situation. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion. The incident has sparked widespread fear and concern among residents in the area.
