Amid the ongoing mass burial controversy in Dharmasthala, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has organized a ‘Dharmasthala Chalo’ campaign today, August 16, 2025. Party sources indicate that approximately 500 cars will participate in this massive rally. Led by State President B.Y. Vijayendra, legislators from Shivamogga, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Udupi, and Mangaluru will visit Dharmasthala to offer special prayers to Shri Manjunatha Swamy.

Through this rally, the BJP aims to highlight the religious significance of Dharmasthala while criticizing the state government’s SIT probe into the mass burial controversy. Vijayendra alleged, “There is a smear campaign against Dharmasthala, and the SIT investigation is going astray. Dharmasthala, a prominent pilgrimage center in South India, is a revered site for millions of devotees. The controversy has taken a politically sensitive turn, and the BJP’s rally is seen as a show of unity against the Congress government. “We condemn the attacks on Hindu religious centers. The truth must be brought to light,” Vijayendra stated.
