The Election Commission of India has recently issued a statement addressing concerns raised by some political parties and individuals regarding errors in the electoral rolls, including those prepared in the past.

According to the Commission, had these issues been raised at the right time through the proper channels, the concerned SDM EROs (Sub-Divisional Magistrate Electoral Registration Officers) could have corrected the mistakes, if genuine, before those elections.
