Bengaluru's Yellow Line Metro will start its services at 5:00 AM on Monday, August 18, 2025, to accommodate the rush of commuters returning to the city after the Independence Day weekend. This is a special arrangement to help ease the increased passenger traffic.
Timings: Normally, the Yellow Line starts at 6:30 AM, but for this Monday, the services will begin at 5:00 AM.
First Train: The first train will depart from both terminal stations, RV Road and Delta Electronics Bommasandra, at 5:00 AM.
Validity: This special timing is only for August 18, 2025. From Tuesday, August 19, services will revert to the usual 6:30 AM start time.
Other Lines: The Purple and Green Line services will continue to operate from their usual time of 4:15 AM on Monday.
Fare: The fare for a one-way trip between the two terminal stations on the Yellow Line is ₹60. Tickets, smart cards, and QR tickets will be available as usual.
The Yellow Line, which connects RV Road to Bommasandra, is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion in key areas like the IT hub, Electronic City. Currently, a train runs every 25 minutes on this line, with plans by BMRCL to increase the frequency in the future.
