Amidst the ongoing debate over the Dharmasthala case, a statement by Mahesh Timmarudi, a resident of Dharmasthala, has sparked significant controversy. In a video, he claimed, “The Chief Minister is also involved in 24 murders and should resign.” This statement was raised by another MLA in the Assembly, who demanded that the government respond and provide details of the investigation into the excavation so far. BJP MLAs pressed Home Minister G. Parameshwara to disclose the investigation’s findings to the state.

Dharmasthala: The religious center of Dharmasthala has been in the news extensively, previously due to the Sowjanya case and now due to allegations by an anonymous individual claiming that bodies were illegally buried there. The people of Karnataka have been keenly observing the situation, eagerly awaiting the government’s response and actions. Excavation work at around 15 locations has been completed, and no significant evidence of illegally buried skeletal remains has been found, except for one skeleton at a burial site.


In response, the Karnataka BJP, along with its MLAs and activists, organized a "Dharmasthala Chalo" program involving around 400 vehicles. BJP MLAs pressed Home Minister G. Parameshwara to disclose the investigation’s findings to the state.Speaking in the Assembly today (August 18, 2025), Home Minister G. Parameshwara stated, “You have your responsibilities, and we have ours. You have not taken Dharmasthala on lease, and we are conducting a transparent investigation and will take appropriate action.” Addressing the issue of Mahesh Timmarudi, he remarked, “There’s no need to make that person a big figure.
