The discussions focused on crafting strategic policies to accelerate India’s economic growth, improve infrastructure, and strengthen governance. In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi stated, “Chaired a meeting to discuss the roadmap for Next-Generation Reforms. We are committed to swift reforms across all sectors, which will boost Ease of Living, Ease of Doing Business, and prosperity.” This meeting follows the announcement made during PM Modi’s Independence Day speech regarding the formation of a task force for Next-Generation Reforms. Modi described these GST reforms as a “Diwali gift,” intended to ease the tax burden on citizens and stimulate economic activity. These reforms align with the Viksit Bharat vision of transforming India into a high-income nation by 2047.
