Mumbai, August 20, 2025 – Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has publicly criticized Vijay Subramaniam, producer of the upcoming AI-generated film Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal, announced by Abundantia Entertainment and Collective Media Network’s Historyverse. Promoted as India’s first “Made-in-AI” theatrical release, the film is set to hit theaters on Hanuman Jayanti in 2026. Kashyap’s scathing remarks, posted on Instagram, target Subramaniam, the head of Collective Artists Network, which represents writers, directors, and actors, for prioritizing profits over human creativity.

Film Announcement: On August 19, 2025, Abundantia Entertainment unveiled the poster for Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal, describing it as a “first-of-its-kind, Made-in-AI, Made-in-India” project rooted in the lore of Lord Hanuman. Kashyap’s Criticism: Kashyap accused Subramaniam of betraying the artist community by producing an AI-driven film while representing creators. In his Instagram post, he wrote, “Congratulations @vijaysubramaniam84. Here is the man heading the @lifeatcollectiveartistsnetwork that represents artists, writers, directors, now producing a film made by AI. So much for looking after and representing the interests of creators.” He further stated, “End of the day, all these agencies are only interested in making money off you… they are going all AI,” suggesting that artists are being undervalued.
