India Surpasses China in Smartphone Exports to the US for the First Time in History..!

India’s mobile phone production has surged from ₹18,000 crore to ₹5.45 lakh crore, with exports skyrocketing 127-fold from ₹1,500 crore to ₹2 lakh crore.

In the second quarter of 2025 (April-June), India has overtaken China in smartphone exports to the United States, marking a historic milestone. Indian-manufactured smartphones accounted for 44% of the US's smartphone imports, while China's share dropped to 25%. In the same quarter last year, China's share was 61%, with India at just 13%.

This significant growth is largely attributed to India’s “Make in India” initiative and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. Apple has significantly scaled up iPhone manufacturing in India, assembling and exporting iPhone 16 base models primarily to the US. However, iPhone 16 Pro models are still produced in China.
