The Dharmasthala case, centered around allegations of mass burials and the disappearance of Ananya Bhat, has taken a dramatic turn with new revelations suggesting a planned conspiracy. Bengalore: The Dharmasthala case, centered around allegations of mass burials and the disappearance of Ananya Bhat, has taken a dramatic turn with new revelations suggesting a planned conspiracy. Sujatha Bhat, the central figure in the controversy, has admitted that her claim of having a daughter named Ananya Bhat was fabricated, giving a significant twist to the ongoing investigation. This admission, coupled with a subsequent U-turn by Sujatha, has intensified scrutiny and raised questions about the motives behind the allegations. In a statement to InsightRush News, Sujatha Bhat confessed, “I do not have a daughter named Ananya Bhat. The entire story was a lie crafted for property-related reasons.”read also: Dharmasthala Mass Cremation Case: Misinformation Surrounding Ananya Bhat Cleared..!

She revealed that she was influenced by Girish Mattannavar and Jayanth T to make these false claims. “I was under pressure and coerced into fabricating the story. I seek forgiveness from the devotees of Dharmasthala,” she added, promising to reveal the full truth before the Special Investigation Team (SIT). However, in a contradictory move, Sujatha later claimed in media interviews that she was forced to confess, alleging that a YouTube channel deliberately coerced her into making these statements, further complicating the narrative.

The case, initially sparked by a former sanitation worker’s allegations of mass burials in Dharmasthala, has drawn significant attention. Sujatha’s claims about her daughter’s disappearance in 2003 during a college trip to the temple town were supported by a photograph, which Suvarna News later exposed as a manipulated image of a deceased woman from Kodagu, not Ananya Bhat. Investigations have further revealed no records of Ananya Bhat’s enrollment at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, or Sujatha’s alleged employment with the CBI in Kolkata, casting serious doubts on her narrative.read also: Sujatha Bhat’s False Confession: No Daughter Named Ananya Bhat, But Sujatha Bhat Takes a U-Turn

BJP leader Sunil Kumar, a prominent figure in Karnataka politics, has officially weighed in on the controversy via a post on X, stating, “The Dharmasthala case is a planned conspiracy to malign the sacred institution. The truth is coming out, and those responsible must face strict action.” His statement aligns with sentiments expressed by other BJP leaders, including Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna and Independent MLA G. Janardhan Reddy, who have accused Congress MP Sasikanth Senthil of orchestrating the allegations to defame the temple.

The SIT, tasked with probing the alleged mass burials and related claims, has issued a notice to Sujatha Bhat, directing her to appear for questioning at its Belthangady office. The investigation has expanded to Shivamogga, Bengaluru, and Udupi, with officials collecting documents to verify the claims. Despite initial allegations of mass graves, SIT excavations have so far yielded no substantial evidence, such as female remains, to support the claims of widespread burials.read also: Dharmasthala Mass Cremation Case: SIT Issues Notice to Sujatha Bhat..!

The controversy has sparked outrage among Dharmasthala’s devotees, who view the allegations as an attack on the temple’s sanctity. Mysuru-based RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna has filed a complaint against Sujatha Bhat and others, accusing them of spreading false propaganda and creating fear among the public. “Such actions insult the faith of lakhs of devotees and must face stern legal consequences,” Krishna stated.

As the SIT continues its probe, the case remains a focal point of debate in Karnataka, with growing calls for transparency and accountability. The conflicting statements from Sujatha Bhat and the lack of concrete evidence have fueled speculation of a deeper conspiracy, potentially aimed at tarnishing the reputation of Dharmasthala, a revered pilgrimage center.
