Actor Darshan to Be Shifted to Ballari Jail... What Did the Court Say?

Following the Supreme Court verdict in the Renukaswamy case, Parappana Agrahara jail authorities have submitted an application to shift actor Darshan to Ballari Jail. The hearing has been postponed to August 30, and the actor's future now depends on the court's decision.

Currently, actor Darshan is lodged in Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Jail. He had previously secured interim bail in the Renukaswamy case and was held in Ballari Jail at that time. Later, he was released from jail after obtaining bail.

However, on August 14, the Supreme Court issued a verdict against Darshan, resulting in a situation where he must return to jail. Through an application, jail authorities requested that Darshan be shifted to Ballari Jail within a few days. This request was instructed to be submitted through the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP), and it was later filed as an application.

The Sessions Court was scheduled to hear this application on August 23. However, as the accused’s lawyers did not raise objections at that moment, the hearing regarding the Ballari transfer was postponed to August 30. Currently, Darshan and the other accused are in Parappana Agrahara Jail, where they have completed one week of their jail term.

At the same time, a copy of the Supreme Court verdict has also reached the jail superintendent. Based on this, it is evident that jail authorities are making efforts to shift Darshan to Ballari Jail.
