From August 27 to August 31, 2025, the Ganesha idol immersion will take place at Halasuru Lake’s Kalyani in Bengaluru, with an estimated 30,000+ idols to be immersed over these five days. To manage the heavy crowds and prevent traffic congestion, the Bengaluru Traffic Police have implemented specific traffic restrictions.Traffic regulations will be altered daily from 2 PM to 4 AM.
Changes in vehicle movement will affect Kensington Road, Murphy Road, the MEG-Halasuru Lake area, and Annaswamy Mudaliar Road. Vehicles will be allowed to travel only from the MEG area toward Murphy Road. Vehicles heading toward Halasuru Lake will be diverted to alternative routes. Vehicles coming from Kensington Road must turn right at Gurudwara Junction and proceed via Gangadhar Chetty Road, Dickenson Road, St. John’s Road, Sri Circle, Lavanya Theatre Junction, Naga Junction, Promenade Road, and Wheeler’s Road.
Vehicles from Thiruvalluvar Statue Junction should also take Gangadhar Chetty Road, turn left at RBNMS, and continue via Dickenson Road and St. John’s Road. No vehicle parking or stopping is permitted near the main gates of Halasuru Lake and Kalyani. Parking is also prohibited along Kensington Road, Annaswamy Mudaliar Road, and Tank Road. The traffic department urges citizens to use alternative routes, adhere to parking regulations, and cooperate with the police.
