In Siddanakatte village, Chikkanayakanahalli taluk, Tumakuru district, the suicide case of paramedical student Ashwini has taken a new turn with WhatsApp messages and audio clips revealing the true cause. On June 21, 2025, Ashwini took her life by hanging herself with a saree at her home. Initially, it was suspected to be a suicide due to "stomach pain.
" However, WhatsApp messages and audio clips found on Ashwini's mobile exposed a deeper story. Ashwini had been in a two-year relationship with Chetan, a youth from the neighboring Ashriyal village. Their relationship turned sour after she discovered Chetan's illicit affair with another woman, leading to frequent disputes. In a WhatsApp message to Chetan, Ashwini wrote, “No one should face the betrayal I did.”
She also sent an audio clip stating, “I will teach you a lesson.” Moments before her death, she sent Chetan a selfie showing herself with a saree tied around her neck.Initially registered as an Unnatural Death Report (UDR), the case has now been converted into a murder case by Chikkanayakanahalli police based on a complaint from Ashwini’s parents. An FIR has been filed against Chetan, and the police are investigating. Ashwini had completed her course at a government paramedical college in Tumakuru. Her suicide has left the local community in shock and grief.
