Aniruddha Says It’s Not Right to Demand a Vishnuvardhan Memorial... What Happened in the Meeting with the Chief Minister?

Following the controversy over the demolition of Dr. Vishnuvardhan’s memorial at Abhiman Studio, his son-in-law Aniruddha Jatkar met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to discuss the issue. He clarified, “There is already a memorial in Mysuru; demanding another one in Bengaluru is not appropriate.”

The memorial of actor Dr. Vishnuvardhan at Bengaluru’s Abhiman Studio was recently demolished. Some people publicly expressed outrage, alleging that the demolition took place with the consent of Aniruddha Jatkar and his family. Following this, Aniruddha met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Speaking to the media afterward, Aniruddha said, “The Chief Minister has responded positively, both in the past and now. He has assured that the matter will be discussed in the cabinet.”

Regarding the proposal to confer the ‘Karnataka Ratna’ award on Vishnuvardhan, Aniruddha clarified, “Vishnuvardhan is undoubtedly deserving of the Karnataka Ratna. Instead of requesting the award, I reminded them of his eligibility.”

Addressing the demolition of the memorial at Abhiman Studio, he said, “I clarified this matter in a recent press conference. The government has already built a memorial for Vishnuvardhan in Mysuru. Therefore, demanding another memorial in Bengaluru is not right.”

He added, “Since Vishnuvardhan’s last rites were performed at Abhiman Studio, the place holds its own significance. However, the demolition of the memorial there is unfortunate.”

When asked about constructing a memorial on Balanna’s land, Aniruddha responded, “That land belongs to Balanna’s family. Whether the state government will purchase it remains to be seen. I had requested 10 guntas of land from Balanna’s family for the fans, but I don’t know what decision the government will take.”

He emphasized, “When a memorial has already been built in Mysuru, repeatedly demanding another one in Bengaluru is not appropriate. Balanna’s family should come forward and provide space for a memorial.”
