Renowned Kannada screenwriter and director S. S. David has passed away due to a heart attack. The incident occurred on August 31, 2025. He had written the screenplays for Police Story and Agni IPS. His passing has caused a great loss to the Kannada film industry.

David had directed films like Dhairya and Hi Bangalore. It is learned that he had a dream of bringing writers from Mumbai to create a major film. Unfortunately, he passed away before this dream could be realized.

Director David was unmarried. He had two dogs at his home, which were everything to him. His sister resides in Udupi. Since no family members have come to Bengaluru, David’s body has been kept at the mortuary of Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru.

On August 31, David collapsed while visiting a medical shop. He was immediately admitted to a hospital in RR Nagar, but despite treatment, he succumbed to a heart attack. It is said that his sister, who resides in Kapu, Udupi, has stated she is unable to come to Bengaluru. The police have informed that the body will not be handed over until family members arrive.
