In 2019, the action thriller Saaho, made with a massive ₹350 crore budget, had Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif as the producers' first choice. However, she rejected the offer without hesitation, leading to a new actress getting the role.

Katrina Kaif's decision opened the door for Shraddha Kapoor, who starred opposite Prabhas in Saaho. The film also featured prominent actors like Chunky Panday, Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Mandira Bedi in key roles. The movie grossed approximately ₹451 crore worldwide.

According to reports, Katrina Kaif was the initial choice for Saaho. Discussions with her had been ongoing for six months even before the release of Baahubali 2. However, it is reported that Katrina felt working with Prabhas at that time would not be beneficial for her career. After the massive success of Baahubali 2, rumors spread that Katrina Kaif’s team was involved in the project, but she remained silent, neither confirming nor denying the reports.

Although Katrina Kaif was initially interested in Saaho, it is said that she stepped in to support Salman Khan after Priyanka Chopra Jonas unexpectedly exited Bharat.
