On September 3, 2025, Advocate Sunil strongly opposed the police's request to transfer actor Darshan from Parappana Agrahara Jail. He questioned why there is such urgency to relocate Darshan when other inmates remain in the same facility.
According to the advocate, jail authorities lack the permission to transfer undertrial prisoners. He argued that there is no evidence to suggest that Darshan or any other inmates have exhibited improper behavior.
In 2024, when Darshan was transferred to Ballari, allegations of 'VIP treatment' surfaced. The transfer was justified due to his alleged connections with rowdy sheeters. At that time, cases were filed not only against the accused but also against some jail officials. Sunil expressed dissatisfaction over attempts to suppress these incidents.
On August 23, 2024, a CCB raid revealed that jail officials were supplying certain items inside the prison. Some officials were suspended following these allegations. Sunil noted that the High Court had issued a stay order on cases involving individuals associated with Darshan.
Despite thousands of inmates being housed in the Central Jail, no one has requested their transfer. Sunil questioned why such issues arise if the jail administration is functioning properly. He strongly objected to the selective targeting of Darshan for transfer while ignoring other inmates.
