Bengaluru (Sep 05): Dr. Dinesh has been finalized as the new Director of the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, following a decision made in a special governing council meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The appointment comes as the tenure of the current Director, Dr. K.S. Ravindranath, is nearing its end, necessitating the selection of a new director.
On Thursday, a special meeting was held at Vidhana Soudha, chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Out of 11 senior doctors who applied for the director’s post, 10 were interviewed. The candidates included Dr. Dinesh, Dr. M. Divya Prakash, Dr. B. Girish, Dr. S. Jayaprakash, Dr. V. Kumaraswamy, Dr. A.C. Nagamani, Dr. C.G. Prabhushankar, Dr. M. Prasanna Simha, and Dr. Venugopal Ram Rao. Dr. Satish Govindayya was absent from the interview process.
Dr. Dinesh’s name was finalized for the director’s post during the interviews. However, due to an existing High Court injunction related to the appointment, an official announcement has not been made. The government will submit the council’s decision to the High Court, and the director’s appointment will be announced based on the court’s orders.
