Chief Minister Siddaramaiah participated in a public event held at the Palace Grounds in Bengaluru to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. During his speech at the gathering, the Chief Minister concluded by raising the slogan: "Jai Hind, Jai Karnataka, Jai Hindu-Muslim."

As CM Siddaramaiah arrived at the venue, Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan welcomed him and escorted him to the stage, holding his hand. A young boy took a selfie with the Chief Minister and expressed his happiness with a thankful smile. However, this particular slogan by the Chief Minister drew criticism from several Hindu leaders. They noted that Siddaramaiah had never previously made such a statement, and found it surprising that he chose to do so on this occasion.

Additionally, some critics commented on the Chief Minister wearing a Muslim cap during the ceremony. They pointed out that he has worn such caps on several occasions in the past, and alleged that beyond symbolic gestures, he has also implemented multiple schemes specifically targeting the Muslim community.
