In many Indian households, air conditioners (ACs) have become commonplace due to scorching heat and extreme weather conditions, making them essential as early as January. They are particularly indispensable during March, April, and May. However, a tragic incident in Faridabad has left a family devastated after an AC explosion. In this horrific event, a father, mother, and daughter lost their lives on the spot, while their son, severely injured, is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU).

The incident occurred in Green Field Colony, Faridabad, where Sachin Kapoor and Rinkoo Kapoor’s family resided. On Sunday (Sep 07) night, the family had turned on the AC before going to sleep. Sachin, Rinkoo, and their two children, Sujan and Aryan, were asleep when, around 1:30 AM, a massive explosion occurred in the AC unit. The loud blast startled neighbors, and flames quickly engulfed the Kapoor residence.Local residents immediately informed the police. A team of police and firefighters rushed to the scene to extinguish the blaze.

During the rescue operation, Sachin Kapoor, Rinkoo Kapoor, and their daughter Sujan Kapoor were found completely charred. Their son, Aryan, was critically injured.Aryan Admitted to HospitalAryan, suffering from severe burn injuries, was unconscious when rescued. The team promptly admitted him to a local hospital. Most of his body had sustained burns, and he is currently receiving treatment in the ICU. Two fire brigades were deployed to douse the flames.

Other families in the building attempted to rescue the Kapoors but were unable to do so due to the intense fire. Technical Fault SuspectedThe police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Preliminary findings suggest a technical fault in the AC unit as the cause of the explosion. The investigation is ongoing, focusing on the AC’s wiring and other technical aspects. The fire destroyed all household items, leaving the home in ashes.
