He mentioned that he was not in town during the incident and noted that the Chief Minister, Home Minister, and the District In-charge Minister have already responded, as seen in media reports. Reacting to BJP leaders visiting Maddur, Shivakumar criticized them, saying they have no other work but to divide people and incite unrest.
He accused the BJP of not contributing to development and urged them to secure approvals for projects like NREGA, tax funds, Cauvery, Mekedatu, and Mahadayi in Delhi. Instead, he alleged, they are politicizing the Maddur incident to create a Hindu-Muslim divide.
Bengaluru MLAs Meeting: DK Shivakumar announced a meeting with Bengaluru city MLAs scheduled for this evening, originally planned for yesterday but postponed due to his absence. The meeting will discuss irrigation matters. On the topic of Greater Bengaluru governance, he emphasized that ministers should not limit themselves to their constituencies but also take responsibility for districts. He added that the party would assign additional responsibilities moving forward.
