According to information, Karishma Kapoor's ex-husband Sanjay Kapoor's asset dispute has led to Karishma's children approaching the Delhi High Court. This development is related to the dispute over the assets worth 30,000 crore rupees of the late Sanjay Kapoor.
According to a Bar & Bench report, Karishma's children, Samaira and Kian, have filed a case in the Delhi High Court. They have accused their stepmother Priya Sachdev of forging Sanjay Kapoor's will. The children have stated that the will made by their father is not legally valid, that it is forged, and has been fabricated.
Accusing that they have been unfairly excluded from their father's will, the children have submitted a petition to the court. In this case, Priya Kapoor, her minor son, Sanjay's mother Rani Kapoor, and the executor of the will, Shradha Suri Marwah, have been named as respondents.
Sanjay Kapoor's untimely death had shocked the family. A massive dispute has erupted around his 30,000 crore rupee assets. The children have accused that Sanjay's mother, Rani Kapoor, was forced to sign some documents while she was in mourning after her son's death.
Earlier, when Karishma Kapoor's name came up in this dispute, a source close to the actress clarified to ETimes, "Karishma Kapoor is not involved in any asset dispute. She has no rights, is not claiming any share in the assets. Her only concern is the welfare and future of her children."
Sanjay's sister Mandira Kapoor also stated that several people, including Priya, forced her mother to sign some documents. "What documents did they make in those 13 days that they are not showing us? They locked the door and made my mother sign," Mandira told Republic.
"It happened not once, but twice. There were two doors, one inside and one outside. So my voice wasn't heard. During the mourning period, my mother signed some papers. She was in deep grief. They came to me and said, 'I don't know what papers I signed.' Since then, we have been asking, but no response. So what are they hiding from us? This will come out at some point, and the truth will be revealed," Mandira added.
Karishma Kapoor married Delhi-based entrepreneur Sanjay Kapoor in 2003. However, after years of complications, the couple officially divorced and separated in 2016.
