Warden Arrested at Parappana Agrahara Jail for Smuggling 100 Grams of Hashish Oil..!

Parappana Agrahara Jail, Karnataka’s largest prison, houses over 5,000 inmates despite having a capacity of only 2,200. This overcrowding has put significant pressure on security and administration, potentially contributing to such incidents.

On the evening of September 7, 2025, Kallappa, a warden at Parappana Agrahara Jail, was subjected to a routine check by CISF personnel while reporting for night shift duty at the jail's entrance. During the inspection, 100 grams of hashish oil and tobacco, wrapped in cellotape, were found concealed in his khaki pants. Parappana Agrahara police arrested Kallappa and seized the 100 grams of hashish oil.

The police are interrogating him to uncover details about the source of the hashish oil and its intended recipients within the jail. Kallappa had been working as a warden at Parappana Agrahara Jail for the past few months. This incident adds to the recurring allegations of prohibited substances being smuggled into the jail. Previous reports have highlighted the discovery of mobile phones, ganja, and other banned items within the facility. The investigation into Kallappa continues to probe the network of drug trafficking within the jail.
