Bengaluru: The state government has once again decided to conduct a caste census. Teachers will be utilized for this survey, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has informed. Addressing a press conference at his home office Krishna in Bengaluru, the Chief Minister provided details on this matter. He stated that a new caste census will be conducted from September 22 to October 7 using 1.75 lakh teachers.
The survey is expected to be completed by December. 1.75 lakh teachers have been assigned for this purpose. If individuals are not at home during the survey time, they can call the helpline 8050770004 to provide information. Additionally, participation in the survey is possible through the website www.ksdckarnatakagovt.in, the CM informed.The government has not accepted the Kantharaj report. Subsequently, Jayaprakash Hegde became the chairman of the Backward Classes Commission. A social-educational survey was conducted in 2015.
After ten years, a decision has been made for a new survey. The responsibility of the survey has been entrusted to the Backward Classes Commission.Once information on caste, religion, and social status is available, it will help in formulating special programs. The report of the earlier survey conducted under Kantharaj's chairmanship has not been considered outdated. Now, a new social-educational survey has been recommended, the Chief Minister clarified.
