A horrific tragedy unfolded in Mosalehosahalli village of Hassan district during a Ganesh immersion procession. Five individuals died at the scene, while out of the 17 injured admitted to hospitals, four succumbed to their injuries despite treatment. The driver, Bhuvaneshwar, has been accused of negligence in causing the accident.According to locals, the driver was under the influence of alcohol, leading to this disaster. Enraged by the incident, villagers staged intense protests against the driver.
They noted that the village has been conducting Ganesh idol immersions for the past 50 years without any such heartbreaking event ever occurring.Eyewitnesses described the nightmarish scenes they witnessed, attributing the accident to the narrow width of the road despite it being a national highway.
