Around 20 Supreme Court judges have set out for a two-day weekend trip to Ranthambore National Park. This is entirely a personal and family outing, with no official programs involved. Led by Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai, the judges along with their family members departed from Delhi in three buses (without beacons or security escorts) at around 3 p.m. on Friday evening, heading to Ranthambore. The journey covers approximately 360 km, with a planned tea break midway at Pinhan in Rajasthan.
The trip includes jungle safaris, wildlife spotting (primarily tigers), and relaxation, with plans to return to Delhi by Sunday evening. The judges themselves are covering all expenses, and media coverage has been prohibited. The Rajasthan government is providing local security and arrangements, and the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, K.R. Shriram, will receive them.Safari Flip 32L Casual Printed Backpack, 2 Compartments, Bottle Holder, Front Pocket, School Bag for Boys and Girls, College Bag, Office Bag, Travel Bag for Men and Women
This marks the second consecutive year of such a weekend retreat. Last year, under then-CJI Sanjiv Khanna, a similar outing took place in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, where judges also discussed potential judicial appointments. In June, the Supreme Court had already formed a committee to address issues like illegal mining and temple overcrowding in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. Some observers believe this trip also aims to foster greater collegiality and team spirit within the judiciary.
