The 2012 Soujanya murder case, involving a PU student from Dharmasthala, is back in the spotlight. A new complaint has been filed against social activist Snehamayi Krishna at the Belthangady police station by Venkappa Kotyan. The case, still under trial in court, took a turn when Snehamayi Krishna, on September 8, 2025, submitted a complaint to the Dakshina Kannada SP, making serious allegations against Soujanya’s father-in-law, Vithal Gowda.
Krishna demanded a narco test and reinvestigation, claiming Gowda could be involved in the murder.Expressing strong objection, Venkappa Kotyan, in his complaint, accused Krishna of making these claims with malicious intent to derail the fight for justice in Soujanya’s case. Kotyan has urged the police to immediately interrogate Snehamayi Krishna regarding these allegations.
