In a heart-wrenching incident in Gonakanahalli village, Hoskote taluk, Bengaluru Rural district, four members of a family attempted suicide, resulting in the tragic deaths of three.The deceased have been identified as Shivu (32), his daughter Chandrakala (11), and son Uday Surya (7).

The mother, Manjula, survived the attempt and is currently admitted to Hoskote Government Hospital.According to reports, Shivu had been injured in an accident some time ago. The couple had taken loans for his treatment, and the mounting debt pressure made it impossible for them to sustain their livelihood, leading to the decision to end their lives.

To prevent their children from being orphaned, Manjula allegedly strangled her husband and children with a veil before attempting to hang herself. However, the rope snapped, saving her life. The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Hoskote police station.
