Outrage from BY Vijayendra Over CM Siddaramaiah’s Remarks on Equality in Hinduism and Conversion

Selective Criticism: Vijayendra challenged the CM’s focus on alleged inequalities in Hinduism while ignoring contradictions in Islam, such as oppression of women and prioritizing religion over nation. He questioned why Siddaramaiah did not welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Triple Talaq abolition law.

Bengaluru, September 14, 2025 – Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra has expressed strong outrage over Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s statement questioning equality in Hinduism in the context of religious conversions. Vijayendra accused the Congress-led Karnataka government of not only maligning Hinduism and spreading propaganda against religious centers but also encouraging conversions by including "Christian" alongside Hindu caste names in the Backward Classes Commission’s list.

Vijayendra’s Statement: Vijayendra condemned the state government’s move to list "Christian" as a category in the caste census conducted by the Backward Classes Commission, calling it a deliberate attempt to provoke conversions among Hindus. He criticized Siddaramaiah’s remark, “If there was equality in Hinduism, why would people convert to other religions?” as reflective of the CM’s disdain and intolerance toward Hinduism, portraying him as anti-Hindu.

Vijayendra argued that the statement indirectly incites conversions.Instead of admitting the error and removing the “Christian” category from the caste list after objections from BJP and pro-Hindu organizations, the CM’s response has fueled further controversy. Vijayendra questioned why the government, which has already considered repealing the anti-conversion and cow slaughter ban laws, is focusing on conversions under the guise of a socio-economic survey. He accused the Congress of pursuing an agenda to fragment Hindu society.

Key Points of Criticism: Selective Criticism: Vijayendra challenged the CM’s focus on alleged inequalities in Hinduism while ignoring contradictions in Islam, such as oppression of women and prioritizing religion over nation. He questioned why Siddaramaiah did not welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Triple Talaq abolition law.

Political Motives: The BJP leader alleged that Siddaramaiah’s ideology revolves around belittling Hindu traditions and appeasing other religious communities, rather than promoting secularism or Indian culture. He claimed the CM’s mindset is rooted in opposing Sanatana Hindu Dharma and Indian traditions, which is reflected in the state’s governance.

Anti-Hindu Policies: Vijayendra pointed to a series of government actions as evidence of an anti-Hindu stance, accusing the Congress of undermining Hindu society through the caste census and other policies.Murder vs. Attempt to Murder: Supreme Court Issues Guidelines for Courts

Background

The controversy stems from the Socio-Economic and Educational Survey (caste census) announced by CM Siddaramaiah, set to run from September 22 to October 7, 2025, under the Backward Classes Commission led by Chairman Madhusudan Naik. The inclusion of a “Christian” category alongside Hindu castes has sparked backlash, with critics alleging it legitimizes conversions. The government defends the survey as essential for social justice and reservation policies, but BJP leaders, including Vijayendra and MP Basavaraj Bommai, have labeled it politically motivated and unconstitutional.Safari Flip 32L Casual Printed Backpack, 2 Compartments, Bottle Holder, Front Pocket, School Bag for Boys and Girls, College Bag, Office Bag, Travel Bag for Men and Women
