Beware of House Lease Scams in Bengaluru: Crores Swindled!

Complaints have been filed at Parappana Agrahara, Hebbagodi, and Electronic City police stations.Vivek Keshavan used his website to lease properties and sublet them, collecting large sums from tenants. Initially, he paid rent to property owners for a month or two but has defaulted for the past six months.

Bengaluru, September 16, 2025: A massive scam has surfaced in Bengaluru under the guise of house rentals. Vivek Keshavan, operating under the name Ketina Homes India, has allegedly defrauded hundreds of families of crores of rupees and absconded. Complaints have been filed at Parappana Agrahara, Hebbagodi, and Electronic City police stations.Vivek Keshavan used his website to lease properties and sublet them, collecting large sums from tenants. Initially, he paid rent to property owners for a month or two but has defaulted for the past six months.

He has also vacated his company office and gone into hiding.This scam has left hundreds of families in distress. Property owners are pressuring tenants to vacate, and victims face the loss of lakhs of rupees, with many at risk of homelessness.Police suspect the fraud could exceed ₹60 crore. Victims are urging the police to arrest the accused and take legal action. There are suspicions that Keshavan used a photo with Union Minister Rajnath Singh to further his fraudulent activities. Before leasing a house, thoroughly verify documents. Be cautious when dealing with intermediaries or companies. Inspect the property in person and seek legal advice before making payments.
