In a significant development in the MUDA scam case, the state government has granted permission for an investigation against former Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Commissioner Dinesh Kumar. The case, which involves allegations of illegal site allocation, has been linked to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The court has now adjourned the hearing to September 29. The Lokayukta police had sought prosecution permission to investigate both Dinesh Kumar and former MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajesh Kumar in connection with the scam. However, the state government has only given the green light for the probe against Dinesh Kumar. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has already attached his assets as part of its separate investigation into the matter. During a recent hearing, the court expressed its dissatisfaction with the slow progress of the investigation, noting that no advancements had been made in the last six months. The court also criticized the delay in granting the prosecution sanction.
Meanwhile, a person named Snehamayi Krishna has reportedly approached the High Court seeking an investigation, claiming that he has been mentally distressed and socially humiliated by the police's actions.
