In a significant development in the Dharmasthala case, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has launched a massive search operation in the 12-acre Banglegudda forest area, following reports of multiple human remains being found there.
The search was initiated after a skull submitted by a complainant, Chinnayya, was confirmed by forensic experts to have come from the same location, near the Netravati river bathing ghat. Further, Soujanya’s father-in-law, Vittal Gowda, had also claimed to have found several other sets of remains in the area during an earlier site inspection. Based on these statements, the SIT, led by officers Jitendra Kumar Dayama and Simon, obtained the necessary permissions from the Belthangady Forest Department.
