Former Indian cricketer and beloved spin bowler, R Ashwin, celebrated his 39th birthday today. The star player, who recently retired from all forms of cricket, represented India in 106 Tests, 116 ODIs, and 65 T20Is.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) extended its wishes to Ashwin on his special day. Ashwin was a key member of the Indian squads that won the 2011 ODI World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. Ashwin, who debuted in 2010, was a mainstay of the Indian cricket team, representing the nation in a total of 287 matches across all formats. He recently ended his Test career during the tour of Australia and announced his retirement from international cricket and the IPL a few days ago.
In a retirement message, he expressed gratitude, saying, "My time as a cricketer has come to an end, and every end has a new beginning.
