Directed by Paul Feig, this film is based on Freida McFadden's 2022 novel The Housemaid. Scheduled for theatrical release on December 19, the film features Sweeney as Millie Calloway, a young woman who joins a wealthy family as a housemaid. The glimpse of The Housemaid's trailer was promoted through a series of videos on the 'Housemaid TikTok' account earlier this month. The first teaser, released on September 12, shows the gates of the Winchester mansion opening. The second teaser takes us inside the house to a closed white door. Seyfried says, "I don't know what I'd do without you," while a terrified Sweeney replies, "I don't want to go back." In the third video, showing a brown door, Seyfried says, "I want you to be safe here." The fourth video ends with Seyfried at the gate saying, "Millie, I have a feeling this is going to be good."

The teaser released on September 15 provides a grand view of the Winchester mansion, which looks like a dollhouse where Millie works. In the upstairs bedroom, Seyfried's Nina is in the arms of her husband Andrew. Their daughter, Cecilia (Indiana Elle), is in another bedroom on the same floor. Meanwhile, Enzo, the gardener trimming plants outside, is played by Michele Morrone from 365 Days and An Unadulterated Simple Favor.
