Vijapura - The residents of Sindhagi taluk in Vijayapura district are living in fear as a series of earth tremors, accompanied by loud noises, have continued to shake the region over the past seven days.
Locals have reported hearing a loud thud, which they describe as a sound of huge boulders falling on their houses, causing widespread panic. The tremors have been so frequent that people are now afraid to stay indoors, with some reportedly abandoning their homes. Residents say they have been experiencing similar serial tremors for the past two years, but the recent frequency has heightened their anxiety.
On one recent day alone, the earth reportedly shook four to five times. Tremors were felt around 3 PM in the afternoon and again three times after 10 PM at night. The sudden and intense sounds have disturbed the public, who say the sensation feels like a heavy blow has hit their homes.
