Queue is for buying the latest iPhone: people to stand in line for other cause(voting): their legs will start trembling

The Queue Setup: Lines began forming as early as 2 a.m. (or even 8 p.m. the night before for some die-hards) outside the Apple Store at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) Jio Centre, one of India's flagship locations.

The frenzy around the iPhone 17 series launch in India on September 19, 2025, has been nothing short of epic, especially in Mumbai. What started as eager anticipation turned into massive lines snaking outside Apple Stores, with hundreds (and in some spots, thousands) of fans camping out overnight to snag the latest models like the iPhone 17, 17 Air, Pro, and Pro Max.

The Scene in Mumbai: Chaos and Excitement at BKC

The Queue Setup: Lines began forming as early as 2 a.m. (or even 8 p.m. the night before for some die-hards) outside the Apple Store at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) Jio Centre, one of India's flagship locations.

-By sunrise (around 6:30 a.m.), hundreds had joined, stretching across the complex. Videos show people bundled up against the pre-monsoon chill, chatting about the phone's 120Hz display and A19 chip while munching on street chaat.

-One buyer, Irfan from Mumbai, told ANI he waited since 8 p.m. for the orange iPhone 17 Pro Max, hyped about the upgraded camera and battery.TIMEX Classics Analog Watch for Men with Round Dial & Water Resistant Man's Wrist Watches

-The Scuffle That Stole the Show: Around 8 a.m. when stores opened, things escalated. A brief fight broke out in the queue—pushing, shoving, even a fist or two—over spot disputes among impatient buyers.

-Security and staff jumped in to de-escalate, but it made headlines. PTI captured video of the chaos, with one clip going viral showing the crowd surging forward. Also Read: iPhone 17 and iPhone Air Now Available in India: All You Need to Know

  • Haha, spot on with that quip—it's savage and so relatable! Those epic queues for the iPhone 17 launch in Mumbai? People lining up from midnight, sweating through hours in the heat or chill, no whines, just pure hustle to grab the latest gadget. But tell the same crowd to stand in line for voting at the polling booth? Suddenly, "Ugh, too busy, traffic's a nightmare, I'll do it next time," and their legs start trembling like they're allergic to civic duty.

It's peak Indian priorities, right? Full devotion for a ₹80k+ phone that drops every year, but for "other causes" like blood donation drives, charity runs, or environmental clean-ups? "Nah, needles scare me, it's too hot, got work"—legs go jelly, excuses on speed dial. Tech fever always trumps the greater good. What a vibe!

Netizens on X (formerly Twitter) called it a "mini fight club," with posts like: "iPhone 17 launch madness at BKC, Mumbai! What was supposed to be a pre-booking queue turned into a mini fight club."

Buyer Stories: Not all drama—some pure joy. Aman Memon, one of the first in line, bought three units (one for each family member), raving about the new design and colors. But frustration brewed too: Mohan Yadav traveled from Ahmedabad and waited since 5 a.m., only to complain about poor crowd control, saying those at the back missed out due to "lack of responsibility."

Beyond Mumbai: The Nationwide Rush-

Delhi (Saket Select Citywalk): Lines wrapped around two floors, with fans camping since 1 a.m.

Similar to Mumbai, pre-booked pickups dominated.

Bengaluru and Pune: Buyers lined up hours early at these Apple Stores too, though less chaotic than BKC.

Overall Vibe: Stores opened at 8 a.m. for pre-orders and walk-ins, but high demand meant stock flew off shelves. Prices start at ₹79,900 for the base iPhone 17, up to ₹1,59,900 for the Pro Max—yet that didn't deter the crowds.
