A horrific incident occurred in Baletotad, Arasikere Taluk, Hassan District, where a woman who raised an orphaned boy as her own son was raped and murdered by him. On September 15, 2025, within the jurisdiction of Javgal Police Station, this gruesome act came to light during the investigation. A 45-year-old woman, who worked as a daily wage laborer, did not return home one evening, and her phone was switched off.

The next day, her body was found in a banana plantation with injury marks, raising suspicions of murder. Javgal Police registered a case of suspicious death and began an investigation. Shockingly, it was revealed that the 17-year-old minor, whom the woman had raised with love and care as her own son, committed the crime. However, the boy harbored perverse thoughts and, on September 15, raped and brutally murdered her while she was alone. After the crime, he took her mobile phone, inserted his SIM card, and acted nonchalantly until the police arrested him.Information from villagers about a prior dispute between the boy and the woman provided a lead for the investigation. Locals suspect the boy may have had accomplices.

Despite being a daily wage worker, the woman lived with dignity, dreaming of building a house for her adopted son despite being a widow.
