A 30-year-old software engineer, identified as Nizamuddin from Telangana, India, was shot and killed by police in Santa Clara, California. The incident reportedly occurred after police responded to a call alleging that he had stabbed one of his roommates and attempted to kill another.
According to reports, police arrived at a residence on September 3rd following a domestic dispute. Nizamuddin had allegedly become enraged during an argument and assaulted his roommates, prompting a 911 call. When officers arrived at the scene, they reportedly found him threatening others. To contain the situation, police fired a shot, seriously injuring him. He was pronounced dead while being transported to the hospital.
Police officials have stated that they responded to an emergency call and found the individual had stabbed one person and attempted to kill another, which led to the use of force. Nizamuddin, who had moved to the U.S. for higher studies and was working as a software engineer, had previously shared on LinkedIn that he was experiencing harassment and bullying at his workplace. He also claimed there was a conspiracy to kill him and have him evicted from his accommodation.
The deceased's parents have expressed doubts about the police version of events and are demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. According to sources, Nizamuddin had been terminated from his job six months prior to the incident and was also allegedly being harassed by his roommate, a claim his friends have corroborated.
