On May 5, 2025, Praveen, a resident of Govindarajanagar (Bengaluru), married a woman from Chikkamagaluru in Tarikere, Chikkamagaluru district. On their first night, Praveen hesitated to engage in sexual relations, prompting his wife to inform her family. Frustrated, the wife and her family accused Praveen of impotence and subjected him to a medical examination.

The medical report confirmed Praveen’s ability to engage in sexual activity, noting his hesitation stemmed from mental stress, and advised patience. However, the wife and her family, losing patience, became aggressive and demanded Rs. 2 crore as alimony. Praveen labeled this as “extortion for crores.” The dispute escalated, and on August 12, 2025, the wife’s family stormed Praveen’s Govindarajanagar home, assaulting him and his family members. The incident was captured on the house’s CCTV cameras. Distressed, Praveen filed a complaint against his wife and her relatives at the Govindarajanagar police station. A case has been registered (FIR number not yet disclosed), and the investigation is ongoing.
